Hi! And welcome to our corner of the internet that also belongs to you. We are on a mission to demystify what "therapy" can look like, as people are creative and resourceful when finding ways to grow and heal. Take a look at what we’re all about and how you can get involved.

Why do a podcast?
When we started our podcast, it was mostly for ourselves. We found that we were naturally having conversations about the work we do for ourselves and our clients to grow and heal and realized that the cultural definition of therapy is simply not the entire story of how people pursue mental wellness. We wanted to tell a new story - one of curiosity and exploration.
Redefining “therapy”
already as practitioners who offer niche therapeutic modalities, we were of the mind that therapy should reflect the diversity of those who seek treatment. But, in order to truly flip the script on what Therapy can look like, we had to redefine therapy for ourselves and for the pod.
Early on in Manda’s IFS training, she met a part of herself that took the form of a vast ocean. Manda asked the part “What do you need from me” to which it answered, “stay close.”
it feels like this part exists in all of us, fueling us with unknowable purpose and asking only that we do not tread too far from the truth of us. We used this encounter to form “OUR” definition of therapy:
Therapy is any intentional action that brings us closer to ourselves.
now on the podcast we explore these intentional actions, try them out for ourselves, and discuss why they may be effective from a clinical lens...

It’s In The Experience
opportunities to engage tangibly in one’s exploration of self, rather than just discussing or intellectualizing problems, enables a more profound integration of the experience into their system and holds greater potential for meaningful change. A foundational value of TMT is to “live what you learn.“
Healing Happens in The Here and Now
While reflecting on the past and contemplating the future is part of the therapeutic process, our primary work happens in the present moment. Recognizing and attuning to our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors as they arise brings us closer to ourselves and creates opportunities for meaningful growth and change in our daily lives.
The Body Tells the Truth
Through sensation, our bodies often tell us more about ourselves than we are willing to accept. Giving the body personhood and acknowledging its role in every aspect of our lives is crucial in understanding our past experiences and designing a path forward. “We are our bodies.”
We Do Our Best Work, Together
No matter what we are working on, we can not do it alone. Need for Connection is a universal equalizer when it comes to mental wellness. Whatever way you find your therapy, find a way to share your experience with people you trust.
