About the Podcast

The What...

The So What...

The Now What...

This podcast began as a space for our own reflections—a way to share the conversations we were already having about the work of growth and healing, both for ourselves and our clients. Along the way, we realized that the Western supremacist cultural definition of therapy will never encompass the many ways people pursue wellness. We wanted to tell a new story—one grounded in curiosity, exploration, and the belief that human wholeness should reflect the diversity of those who seek it.

The roots of traditional psychotherapy are tainted in western colonization and oppression. While the field has evolved, mental healthcare can overlook the richness of ancestral wisdom, the urgency of social justice, and the importance of liberation at the center of human flourishing. By redefining therapy as any intentional action that brings us closer to ourselves, we open the door to healing that is culturally relevant, personally meaningful, and integrated to our daily life.

On the podcast, we explore these intentional actions, try them out ourselves, and discuss their effectiveness through both a clinical lens and a broader cultural critique. Through this work, we aim to flip the script on what therapy can be, inviting listeners to reimagine healing as a deeply personal, political, experiential, and liberating journey. Together, we challenge outdated norms of "mental health" and pursue a vision of wellness that celebrates connection, justice, and the truth of who we are.

Somewhere along the way, we forgot that healing is natural to us, innate to who we are.

Not just a service to be paid for, nor a skillset to be learned, but rather like singing is to birds or making honey is to bees...it is just what we do.
